FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q:  What's so different about a Viktorian guitar?

A: One word: Everything. Every feature on the instrument is designed to enhace playability, ergonomics and of course, maximize the level of sound.  Each of our instruments undergoes comprehensive testing to ensure the highest level of quality and satisfaction.

Q: I’m concerned that the guitar will be TOO light for me. Is this an issue?

A: The guitars are light, but not too light. After playing a heavier wooden guitar, by comparison, our instruments will feel much lighter and easier to move around with. Each guitar is balanced on center which prevents muscle and finger cramping while enhancing a player’s maneuverability along the fretboard.

Q: What kind of strings do you recommend on your guitars?

A: Strings are a matter of personal taste. We setup our instruments with 0.1 Ernie Ball strings, which complements the unique tone carbon fiber produces.

Q: What’s the difference between the fret options?

A: Many musicians believe that pressing a string in a jumbo fretted neck avoids friction between the string and the fretboard. The lack of friction makes it easier to bend the string and is easier on the hand muscles when playing for long sessions.  Some musicians prefer flat frets to reduce fatigue of the player's fingers. Flat frets allow a player to move up and down the fretboard with greater speed while preventing unnecessary pressure on the strings allowing relaxation and avoiding hand cramping.

Q: Is carbon fiber a tougher and more durable material than wood?

A: Without a doubt - Carbon fiber is much more resistant to shock and temperature than wood is.  Humidity and altitude are also non-issues when playing a carbon fiber instrument.  Of course you would want to treat your carbon fiber guitar the same as you would a wooden guitar, however, the carbon fiber guitar is far more forgiving when accidents happen.

Q: What’s the difference between a Viktorian guitar and other composite electric guitars?

A: Viktorian guitars are made from 100% composite materials; everything from the pickguard to the bridge nut.  Other composite electric guitars merely substitute carbon fiber for wood.  Through computer aided design software, we fine tune designs and build them out of patent pending composite materials to deliver the best sound quality possible.

Q: What makes Viktorian guitars so comfortable to play?

A: Besides playing an instrument that requires minimal maintenance, the special attention and detail given to ergonomics is extraordinary.  Our guitars are just as comfortable to play sitting on the beach as they are rocking out on stage.

Q: Why don’t your guitars have truss rods?

A: As added benefit of using carbon fiber in construction, the necks of our guitars are strong enough to withstand the tension that would otherwise require a truss rods.

Q: How do I take care of my Viktorian guitar?

A: It doesn’t take much, since our guitars are virtually maintenance free.  Just like any other guitar, use a damp cloth with guitar polish and change the strings when they start to wear out.  Other than that, you’re in good shape!

Q: Does Viktorian offer custom options?

A: Yes!  If you’d like to customize your guitar, visit our customization page here or email us some of your ideas.

Q: What kind of music are these instruments intended to play?

A: Viktorian guitars sound incredible no matter what you play.  Our instruments are versatile and will deliver the sound and style you want, when ever and where ever you want.
